The beginning Hong-Kong and Shanghai

All started in Hong-Kong where two young entrepreneurs with $2 000 in their pockets revolutionized the optical market with polette.
From immense skyscrapers in Hong-Kong and Shanghai the team members have experienced it all and the adventure continues. From a webshop to the opening of many connected showrooms worldwide, polette has not said its last word. Today, this unlimited force is making headlines on TV, newspapers and influencers.

We’re looking for a multi-talent to join the team in Amsterdam to support the operational growth of polette. You’ve got the mindset to make anything you manage run perfectly smooth and make it grow. Our showroom network requires a lot of planning and management. All technical systems can break down, need improvement or replacement. Your understanding of technology and a business mindset help you to anticipate all issues, oversee the maintenance and budgeting. polette is an omni-channel eyewear brand blurring traditional boundaries between online and offline. This means that the showrooms are constantly in development. You will support the Operations Manager to find solutions and organise the implementation. You’ll join our team during the first half of September for a 5-6 months full time internship. The first two months will be focused on training and getting you up to speed. As you gain speed you’ll work more independently. At polette we love bringing people beautiful, affordable eyewear from €15 and to revolutionise the way people shop their glasses around the world. We do this by designing, producing and providing our glasses in-house, because glasses should be affordable and fun for everyone.


* Supporting the Operations Manager (OM) in providing technical support for the showrooms: finding engineers and handymen for example if something breaks or needs replacement. * Providing logistics support to the showrooms with regards to the rollout of collection campaigns et cetera. * You’ll be a contact person for the showroom managers regarding maintenance planning and contracts, searching local partners and preparing budgets for the OM. * You’ll provide the OM with administrative support to find new suppliers and partners and prepare budget sheets for the OM. * Sourcing suppliers, comparing prices and negotiating conditions is an important part of your work that you’ll do under the guidance of the OM. This way you make sure our teams work in safe, functional and beautiful environments. * You keep a good record of all your work, so your learnings can be used for other projects or as comparison material. * As operations assistant you’ll support the other departments in finding solutions for their operational challenges. * As Operations assistant you identify business opportunities and communicate with business leads to contribute to the growth of polette. * You develop knowledge of the optical market and trends to improve the effectiveness of the service delivery of polette.


This describes you: * Your English is excellent and your French is fluent or better. * Speaking Dutch is a plus * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field. * 1-3 years of relevant work experience. * You feel comfortable using spreadsheets for all kinds of tasks. * You’re a creative person, always looking for solutions. * Strong researching skills and understanding how knowledge and data can contribute to the organisation. * You’re an excellent communicator and building rapport is easy for you. * Excellent attention to detail and the ability to bring high quality reporting and presentations. * Good time management skills: you always find time to do that important thing first while keeping an eye on the long term goals. * You’re able to work on a plurality of parallel projects. * You’re a teamplayer who gets gratification from supporting others. * If you’re able to create professional technical drawings this is a plus. 10 years we revolutionized the optical industry by democratizing high-quality frames and lenses.
Today we are shifting the industry with our organic glasses made by biodegradable eco-acetate.
For our third revolution, we are looking for a commercially driven consultant leading the future of polette retail.

Our CS team currently counts 11 collaborators (working both at HQ and remotely). The main channels used are email, online chat, social media inboxes and calls (for specific situations).
The current satisfaction rate is very high (95% on chats; 4.6/5 on Trustpilot): we want to leverage this achievement by turning conversations in opportunities to maximise retention and acquisition.



Develop strategies and implement plans to increase the above mentioned goals of retention and acquisition: ie, adopt commercial-oriented pitches; use upselling codes from the CS Agents; execute (cross-functionally with CS, showroom, marketing, Growth Hacking) campaigns that increase customer life-time and average order value; implement CRM programs in all key markets across Online & Offline channels; leverage traffic through cross-affiliate programs; develop mailing campaigns; establish metrics and analytics to measure the impact.

Goals - Turn the CS agents into persuaders by stretching their commercial mindset;
- Implement a system to measure the return on investment of the CS department;
- Implement commercial-oriented processes, performances, challenges;
- Implement a loyalty & referral program, track the customer experience and convert abandoned carts
- Bring the customer satisfaction rate and conversion rate at its highest level.


- Supervise interactions between CS team & customers, and spot the main areas of improvement to work on to gain value and rise customer satisfaction.
- Implement data analysis to measure accurately our ROI and other important retention KPIs.
- Create challenges, processes and habits so our team systematically think with a commercial and extra mile mindset. Make them intuitive and easy to apply, easy to track and easy to reproduce in the future.
- Participate to the management of the support service team and handle occasionally side missions customer-related.


5+ years of experience in Sales; Fashion or Eyewear is highly preferred.
5+ years of people management experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
Manage a full-cycle sales process and consistently deliver against quarterly quota.
Genuine interest for support service required.
High-energy, self-starting mindset, extra-mile attitude, strive for excellence.
Outstanding presentation, facilitation, communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient oral and written English Language skills along with French and/or Dutch.
Clear understanding-of and passion-for fashion, possibly eyewear.
EU Citizenship required.
