Bird + Nerd
A Mommy & Me eyewear collection, designed by Ryder Bird.
Matching frames for the two of you — because some things are simply better shared.
Available in optical and sunglasses, for moms and kids.
Meet Bird + Nerd: a playful, personality-packed eyewear collection dreamed up by a young designer with a big imagination — and brought to life with polette.
Sketch by sketch, Ryder Bird created a world where mom and child can match, express themselves, and have a little fun with what they wear on their face every day.
Every collection starts with an idea. This one started with a little girl's imagination.
Ryder Bird has always seen the world a little differently — full of color, character and detail. Drawing, styling and dreaming up outfits since she could hold a pencil, she sketched the very first designs for what would become her first eyewear collection: two matching pairs, one for her and one for her mom, made to be worn together.
For Ryder, this collection means more than fashion.
It carries the story of a year that asked for courage — and answered with creativity. Through it all, getting dressed up, choosing the perfect pair of glasses, imagining new designs, stayed one of the few things that let her feel completely herself.
Bird + Nerd is what happens when that imagination is given room to grow: proof that even the smallest ideas can become something real.
Working closely with Ryder and her mom, Amy Roiland (A Fashion Nerd)
polette's design team turned those first sketches into a full collection — staying true to every detail of Ryder's vision, from the playful prints to the cat-ear frames, while bringing the craftsmanship to make it wearable, durable and made to last.
Because the best ideas deserve to be worn.
More than an eyewear collection, Bird + Nerd is a celebration of creativity, confidence and connection.
Through her imagination, Ryder reminds us that glasses can be much more than something we wear every day — they can become a way to express who we are, celebrate our individuality and wear our personality with pride.
Two designs, made for two generations.
Bird + Nerd features matching mom & kid silhouettes, each available as optical glasses orsunglasses — so you can twin from the everyday school run to your next family trip.
Designed with kids in mind, styled for grown-ups too.
Playful cat-ear detailing on the children's frames. Clean, wearable shapes on the adult pair.
Same DNA, two ways to wear it.
Make it yours.
Every pair can be personalized online with a wide selection of sunglass lens colors — so your Bird + Nerd pair reflects your own style, not just Ryder's.
